Well they aren’t animal or mineral so they must be vegetal.

Vegetables historically were considered to be any part of a plant that was to be used as food including flowers, fruits, stems, leaves, roots, and seeds. Fruits were vegetables and peas.

Now when botanically classified, many vegetables are botanical fruits, including bell pepper, cucumber, eggplant, green bean, peas, tomatoes, and melons.

There really isn’t a strict definition for plant foods to be classified as vegetable or not — if it ain’t an animal or mineral…
