It’s not necessary. Run a load of white clothing/sheets and add a tablespoon or two of bleach. That would kill 99.8% of any possible germs. Just wiping the inside with Lysol wipes doesn’t get to all the surfaces where the water goes, like the outside of the wash basket, which cannot be accessed. You are not likely at all to catch any diseases from a shared laundry, but running a load of white with a small amount of bleach will clean the washer. Don’t ruin the washer’s rubber seals or your clothing by using a lot of bleach.
