It has been scientifically demonstrated that using regular soap and washing the hands frequently is the best way to kill germs. Wiping down surfaces with antiseptic wipes after cleaning the obvious dirt off will help disinfect them, but the disinfectant needs to stay on the surfaces for 15 minutes to have enough effect. Hand sanitizers do work to some extent, but do not affect some bacteria that can cause disease.
