Cashew Kernels are graded as wholes, Splits, brokens, Pieces..
Also by colour - characteristic pale ivory / white vs scorched..
Wholes are graded by size - number of kernels per lb.
Pieces are also graded by size - large (6.5mm and above) and small (3mm to 6mm)
Grading is done by sorters, sieves, manual selection.
Traditionally, in shell RCN were not graded but now since shells are removed mechanically, RCN are graded by size to have near uniformity for better cutting of shell.
