Dried herbs are never truly equal and do not give you the same flavor as using fresh. Garlic is cheap and easy to keep on hand, but if you rarely use it or just wanting an easier way, look for small glass jar of fresh minced garlic in the produce section of your grocery store. It isn’t quite as nice as fresh, but it is fast and easy, and keeps really well in the fridge. Use about 1 tsp of fresh minced per clove.
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder is roughly 1 clove of garlic.
4 teaspoons -or- 1 Tablespoon + 1 teaspoon = 8 cloves.
