If I eat carrots and I die, does that mean carrots kill?

If you died, you do not care anymore!
It certainly means carrots were bad for you. One would need to find out why because carrots are normally not toxic unless you ate the wrong ones. Hemlock is a close parent that is sometimes mistaken for carrots.

The same milk is not tolerated by certain people who do not posses the lactase enzyme, it could be a similar case but I guess more serious if is results in a death. One has to elucidate the toxic substance and emit a warning for other people.
