Should I use a heavy duty machine to sew microfleece fabric onto cotton fabric?

Depending on the weight of the cotton fabric, a standard home sewing machine model should suffice. If you are doing industrial scale, or full time production, you should use a machine rated to handle such volume/load. You’ll want to pre-shrink the cotton before joining the fabrics, treating both to the manner/method you plan to use to clean them.
