Water and surfactant chemicals are agitated together with the dirty clothes for a period of time. Then the chemical mixture is drained, and clean water is agitated with the clothes to rinse out the residue of the surfactant chemicals. The rinse water is drained and the clothes are spun to get most of the water out. Your clothes are now clean and ready to be dried.
