There’s an answer on here that says that baby carrots are misshapen large carrots. This is why they were invented, but saying that’s true today is false. FACT CHECK: How Are Baby Carrots Made?

The person who invented baby-cut did, in fact, come up with the process to use up cull carrots. So many baby-cut carrots are sold these days that that’s not how they’re made any more. Baby-cut carrots now are long, thin carrots that are cut into two-inch lengths, polished to round the edges, and sold. There are special varieties of carrots (not GMO, just traditional plant breeding) that grow thin and long. There’s actually not much of the carrot to trim away. Here’s a video:

So, the upshot is that baby-cut carrots are just long thin carrots cut into shorter pieces, that then have their edges rounded off. Yes, they are exactly as good for you as any other carrot. Munch on!
