looking at the total costing and how its been shared across different departments in a company



Marketing and Sales department - 25% to 30% - includes sales and marketing promotion, SEO, Outbound calling.

Development team - 40 to 50% depending on what type of SaaS application you sell

Testing teams - 10% to 15%

Others - 10%

I assume that you are looking at the total costing and how its been shared across different teams in a company

  1. Marketing and Sales - 25% to 30% - Contains sales and marketing promotion, SEO, Outbound calls.
  2. Development team - 40 to 50% depending on what type of SaaS application you sell
  3. Testing teams - 10% to 15%
  4. Others - 10%

Major costing is part of the Development at initial stage and later its Sales and Marketing. It seems SalesForce and other successful SaaS companies expenses towards Sales and Marketing is upward of 40%.
