If the meals are totally dehydrated, sterilized, vacuum sealed, and kept in the dark, they will keep practically forever.

If they are subjected to moisture, oxygen, and light then the shelf life is dramatically reduced.

As long as the food is dry then it will keep a long (> 1 year) time although light can destroy nutritional values (vitamins etc.) Moisture promotes mold and bacterial growth, so it is important to be hermetically sealed.
