  • Sheets - 350 threadcount, and no less
  • Computers - I could get into a Mac/PC debate, but I'll just say that I've owned 4 Macs in my lifetime, the oldest is from 1999 and all of them still work great. I own two PCs from four years ago and they both started great, but now are pieces of crap.
  • Shoes - Many more expensive shoes are higher quality, better on your feet, more comfortable and also last longer. A good quality pair of shoes with a leather sole can be be re-soled and periodically fixed in order to last many many years.
  • Meat - This should be a no brainer but not only does the taste vary greatly, the health factor does as well.
  • Seafood - see above
  • Kitchen/Dining Table -- unless you're a college student or holed up in a crappy studio (as opposed to an awesome studio), go for quality on important pieces of furniture. If you have a family or guests over often, the kitchen table is the centerpiece of the home. Get one that's built well, solid, and will stand the test of time.
  • Baseboards/moulding - New constructions are wrought with MDF/particle board baseboards and they're terrible and will most certainly have to be replaced. While a little pricier, real wood lasts decades.
  • Jeans - someone else said it, but find a good brand and even if it's pricier, those jeans can last a decade.
  • Household cleaners - if you're breathing it, it had better be good quality, and chemical/toxin-free.
