There are a number of possible reasons and all would require a service engineer. The first is that the drum bearing has failed. This is as catastrophic for a washing machine as a broken cam belt is for a car engine. Basically, if this is the cause, you’ll need a new washing machine. Another possible cause is a failure of the electronic programming. This will also be expensive to fix but not as bad as the drum bearing. Probably the cheapest fault is a simple electrical fault where for some reason electricity isn’t reaching the unit that controls the spin.

Usually red wines from hot climates, such as Australia and California are the most alcoholic. This is because hot sunny climates allow the ripening grapes to develop more sugar. More sugar equals more alcohol because yeast consumes sugar and excretes alcohol. I don’t know exactly why white wines from the same regions are less alcoholic but I’d guess that even in the driest white wines more sugar is left unfermented than in red wines.

In order for me: mushrooms, peas and cauliflower tied, green beans. I will eat any of these four happily. I really detest sweet corn. It’s just edible as a minor player in a casserole or similar meaty dish. The only way I like corn is as baby corn, usually raw with a dip, though cooked in Chinese mixed vegetables it’s also quite nice.

If they gave sufficient nutrition, I could live off mushrooms!
