Are laser pointers bad for cats?

they are good and fun to enjoy with your cat and make it play with the pointer, however it should be kept out of the reach of your cat. be sure you are not too mean and let the cat catch it sometimes.

The low power garden variety are fine but you should never shine them directly into a cat’s eyes. Same caution on polished floors; the reflection can be pretty intense. They are a great way to give your cat some fun exercise.

I also use LED flashlights with a variable focus to narrow the beam. The main advantage of these is that they have a bright white light so they are more visible and they project a larger “target area” so they provide some variety for your cat. Same eye cautions apply as for laser pointers.
